It's called maths in Australia (usually). I think only America calls it math.

It's called 'maths' because it covers more than just a single subject (like algebra, calculus, arithmetic, etc)

In America we call it math because we're too lazy to say "Mathematics" and think "Maths" sounds weird.

Quit whining, Ash. It was one tiny needle.
Fun fact: when I was young, I took shots with no problems. Even when I was an infant, I wouldn't cry. But 15-year-old me ran out of the room when the doctor brought in a single one. I got better.
