Sorry but as someone who was killed by a drunk driver DUI sentences are way too lax as it is. At a minimum there should be a mandatory confiscation and destruction of the vehicle on the first offense if nobody is injured, lifetime ban on owning a car if someone was injured and this is the first time caught DUI or Life without parole if someone dies and it's your first DUI. Let's just say that if I had my way there would be no third DUI possible. And yes when they got to me after I was hit there was very little doubt I was dead aside from the fact that they could see where the point of impact was and I was about 100 feet from that and my bicycle was a quarter of a mile past my body, so about 1400 feet from impact. To say I loathe and despise drunk drivers is to grossly understate the emotion of having spent over 2 decades in pain because of a drunk driver.
