I'm wondering what he did to the doctor? OTOH, he was in the hospital after his encounter with Emi, so he may have just chatted one of the docs up then stole the stuff later. There's got to be some police interest in an unidentified guy with knife wounds leaving the hospital AMA.

Guys, I think you might have missed it, but I'm fairly sure that while Emi is an "AI" in the technical sense (she is an intelligence that was created artificially) she doesn't actually appear to be a robot, or an android, or any other such thing. She's human, and susceptible to all the things humans are. She just happened to have been created by a proper computer AI.
