When I visited my friend in Toronto she asked me if I wanted to play "soccer baseball" and confused I said "soccer or baseball? Baseball obviously!"
Other kids laughed and said "You Americans know it as kickball" This is why I instantly got why the slang is "soccer baseball". So now you know that when you visit Toronto and you're invited to a friendly game, don't bring a bat, just a ball.
