I still think Charlie is bringing Ash, even if they did just meet and she was somehow raised in a world without pokemon. (In Australia I'm fairly sure pokemon is even biger then here in the US. Did you realy think peopple would stop likeing it, or did Charlie get transported into a slightly diferent timeline in which the world is several years ahead and pokemon decreased and faided from pop culture memory? does that actualy make sence? hell, that deservs its own post but I dont care so :P. In any case it could be a good explanation instead of actual time travel.)
