Then there is Hyperion on page 387 saying "one more time". «That's why my Dad killed everyone!"» That's not quite accurate: Memnon when she was killed in the attack on him retaliated to defend himself but did not kill everyone. He kills everyone because in the second attack on him the USA military destroy his memory of her, pages 405-407.

ERA @Walex, he had, apparently, started wars on them by proxy (probably through existing robotic stuff) and was killing off humanity that way. The military destroying his home server just pushed him to use WMD's to ramp things up properly.
