She glows because Eos is the Greek Goddess of the Dawn. She is also sister to Helios, God of the sun and Selene, Goddess of the moon. She has to glow; its hereditary.
Hmm I'm going with Eos being the product of Johnny's work at the gentics lab he works at. j/k
